What should be paid attention to when applying LED beads to classroom lighting?

LED beads, as solid-state semiconductor light sources, have been continuously improving in light efficiency and decreasing in price in recent years. Compared with traditional light sources, LED beads have many advantages such as small size, adjustable and controllable, and long lifespan. LED beads have gained rapid development and widespread attention in many application fields such as classroom lighting. At present, public opinion has many concerns about Blu ray, but we cannot simply deny it.
On the one hand, blue light is an important component of white light, which not only plays an important role in ensuring color rendering, but also regulates physiological rhythms. Outdoor sunlight can meet the function of synchronously regulating the physiological rhythm of the human body (also known as the biological clock), and the blue light received indoors is much less than the dose received for outdoor activities. Blue light and cold white light sources can be used to establish a suitable light environment, helping people obtain the daily required dose of blue light to ensure that their physiological rhythms are coordinated with natural circadian rhythms.
On the other hand, the "blue light hazard" we usually hear refers to the photochemical damage to the retina caused by excessive radiation brightness in the 400-500nm blue light band of the light source. The essence of the blue light problem is the combined effect of radiance, blue light weighting function, and time. From a spectral perspective, when the color temperature increases, the proportion of blue light in the LED bead spectrum increases, but there is no special difference compared to the blue light in the fluorescent lamp spectrum. At the same color temperature, the upper limit of the safe blue light brightness of LED beads is similar to that of fluorescent lamps.
There is a unified rating standard for the risk of blue light retina both domestically and internationally, GB/T 20145-2006/IEC62471. LED lamps for daily ordinary lighting belong to Class 0 or Class 1, which belongs to the safety category.
Today, we mainly focus on the issue of whether LED light sources can be used for classroom lighting at this stage, which has caused discussion and questioning in society. The aim is to throw a brick and draw a jade, distinguish relevant concepts, and convey people‘s correct understanding of the relevant issues.
1、 Against the backdrop of increasing attention to the quality of lighting products and the emergence of issues such as blue light hazards and flicker, are LED beads a safety hazard for the visual health of children during development?
Whether it is LED beads or traditional light sources, the corresponding parameters should meet the requirements of lighting standards for various indicators when used for classroom lighting.
Due to the development and gradual popularization of LED bead lighting products, it is necessary to establish standards for classroom lighting LED beads. Currently, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) has issued the "Technical Specification for Energy Conservation Certification of Classroom Lighting Products in Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens" in 2016, further standardizing the parameters of LED bead products. Other standards for LED classroom lighting fixtures still need to be improved.
Is there a safety hazard with LED beads? Currently, the light efficiency and lamp efficiency of white LED beads used for ordinary lighting have exceeded traditional light sources, and can achieve high color rendering and stability, meeting the needs of intelligent lighting for dimming. The use of LED beads still depends crucially on whether the final fixtures can meet the requirements of lighting indicators and related lighting devices.
